Clippers? Edgers? ON A FEMALE ? WHAT’S GOING ON?

Rihanna, Cassie, Lala? What do these three women have in common? They all have shaved a part of their hair off. My name is Tyfani and recently i’ve been paying very close attention to the urban crowd, and I’ve noticed that many people have been cutting their hair off. Everyone has been saying that Rihanna was the person to start the new hair/heat wave. But I’ve done some research and I believe that the main girl who started this whole hair cutting thing was Kelis. Back in 2004 she decided to cut her hair for her Bossy video. But the only difference between Rihanna and Kelis is that Rihanna has been put out in the public more than Kelis. But this hair style, cutting the side of your hair off or really thin, does help during the summer for women. I myself have decided to cut my hair really short and the side very thin. And I’ve noticed that I feel more free and somewhat at ease with my hair. But don’t get me wrong short hair is a hard hairstyle to keep up. Getting cuts bi-weekly, (If you have bangs) having them stick to your head because of all of the sweat, and making sure your hair stays down, are all problems you face when you have short hair. But, then again I am an African American who had ethnic hair. Maybe for other ethnicities, it might be a little bit easier handling a short hair cut. Another problem with having the “Rihanna” cut is finding the right beautician. I’ve had my hair short for about 7 months now and it took me that much time in order to find the right beautician to get it cut the way I want it. Not close or what they think I want. THE STYLE THAT I WANT! Some helpful hints when finding the right beautician is to ask around. Ask some of your friends where they get their hair done. Or you can do what I did. Search on the internet for local hair stylist who have samples of the hairstyles they can do on their website. I went to Divadolls.com located in Houston. And they do a great job at weaving and cutting. I went out on a limb and went there for them to get it cut. I was nervous but, I feel like the only way you can truly find the right beautician is trial and error. You can never be certain on whether or not a person can do the hair style that YOU want. When you’ve found the right person to do your hair, the next step would be to surf the web, and print out photos of the hair style that you want. You should print out many photos of as many dimensions as you can find of the hair style. Or you can mix and match, print out different hairstyles to get the hair style that you desire. Hopefully this site has helped you be in the KNOW of hairstyles. THanks for reading :]
