Natural Wave for your Special Day

Got a special event coming up? Wedding, prom, cruise, anniversary? Some all out for their special day doing up-do’s, fancy pony-tails to the side, some wear it really curly, wavy, or pinned up. There are others I often see pictures of recent brides and party goers that wore it simple, straight with a slight wave and looked absolutely gorgeous. If you’re considering having your hair done for your special day or don’t have time to hit the salon, think about grabbing your favorite professional hair straightener and do it yourself!
How to achieve a natural wave with your hair straightener:
1. Make sure to blow dry your hair through out. (You may leave it slightly damp if you have a wet-to-dry flat iron. I love my wet-to-dry tourmaline flat iron, but some might find it a little faster to straighten your hair when it’s completely dry)
2. Heat straightener to appropriate level suitable for your hair type
3. Section your hair and begin with 1-2 inch section depending on the thickness of your hair.
4. Remember to protect each strand as you go, using a thermal protectant spray. This will help you to protect your hair from excessive heat from your high settings.
5. Now with your first section, positioning your straightener horizontally and at the root, begin sliding it down the strand of hair rotating it in a spiral motion creating your first soft wave.
6. Work your way around in sections to cover all areas. Sometimes it’s good to get a friend to help you with the back of your head (like when you need a spot check when coloring your hair at home!)
Practice, practice, practice and in no time you’ll be creating fun, sexy waves for every day of the week!
